Another What I Ate Wednesday coming...except this week has been a little different...we officially closed on our house in Asheville and so this week has been a bit chaotic! These meals are actually from Thursday since Wednesday was a cluster, lol. I am also sharing a recipe for easy lemon pepper chicken that is SO good and quick to make. As a disclaimer, I am not a registered dietitian and I am not saying that you should eat what I eat. I am simply showing you what I’ve had so you can get ideas for snacks and dinners if you’re stuck in a rut or looking for something new!Read More
Balancing Fitness with SAHM/WAHM Duties
Balancing fitness with SAHM/WAHM duties is one of my daily challenges, and it's often a point of conversation that I have with y'all on Instagram. I never really know how to categorize myself...I mean yes I am a stay at home mom but I'm also a work at home mom? There needs to be some sort of in-between term for that, lol. How about: SAWAHM. Stay And Work At Home Mom. There. Okay I digress. What I wanted to share in this post is not a new acronym for that title but instead tips on how to balance fitness & working out with whatever our daily duties include, but especially if taking care of a kid is thrown into the mix!Read More
What I Ate Wednesday
If you've been a blog reader for a while (like, a long while) then you might remember the good old WIAW posts...aka What I Ate Wednesday. Back in the beginning of my blog (circa 2010) it was primarily focused on food and what I ate, and so on those blog posts, I would show every thing I ate for the day. Seems kind of silly, but I kid you not, still the most highly and frequently requested topic y'all send me is food ideas. So, I decided to bring back the What I Ate Wednesday posts to serve as the answer to that call. As a disclaimer, I am not a registered dietitian and I am not saying that you should eat what I eat. I am simply showing you what I've had so you can get ideas for snacks and dinners if you're stuck in a rut or looking for something new!Read More

Lessons from 2020
We all know that 2020 was a year unlike anything any of us had ever seen. It was hard and different, sad and frustrating. It was also still full of moments of joy, growth, and learning. I am not one to harp on the difficulties of the past; I much prefer to move forward and find silver linings. Admittedly, that is my defense mechanism for when things get tough. Shifting my perspective is my go-to strategy when things get hard. I learned many lessons in 2020, as I'm sure you did as well. I want to share a few with you today that I'm using to propel towards a better 2021!Read More
