Craig & I love us some Netflix and since I know I always love getting recommendations from other people, I figured I would share some of our/my favorites! I should also note, that not all of these are Netflix-original shows, but all are shows you can watch on Netflix currently. These are are binge-able and easy to watch. I can’t watch shows that are very dark, scary, or violent, so you can trust most of these are either comedies, feel good shows, or dramas. So get cozy on the couch & enjoy!
Favorite Shows on Netflix
- The Office– Easily one of my favorite shows of all time, I have probably seen all of the episodes over 15 times LOL. Just one of those shows we default put on in the background.
- Parks & Recreation– admittedly I did *not* think this show was very funny when I watched the first couple of episodes…but KEEP GOING. It is so funny and rivals my love for The Office.
- The Crown (Netflix original series) – The first 5 episodes of season one are very, very slow. But then it picks up and it’s so good! If you like following the Royal Family then you’ll like this!
- New Girl– another hilarious, easy watch like The Office and Parks & Rec.
- Selling Sunset (reality) – Think Million Dollar Listing meets Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. I’m into it, don’t judge me!
- Virgin River (Netflix original series)- a romance drama in which a Nurse Practitioner from LA moves to a small, remote town looking for a fresh start.
- Sweet Magnolias (Netflix original series)- I finished this last week and I LOVED IT. Set in South Carolina (filmed in Georgia) it’s 3 best friends navigating their personal lives/relationships/kids and starting a new business together.
- Outer Banks (Netflix original series)- Another show set in the South! Set in the Outer Banks of North Carolina, it’s actually filmed in South Carolina. It’s pretty suspenseful at times! I’m excited for season 2.
- 23 Hours to Kill with Jerry Seinfeld (stand up) – we DIED laughing at this. It is hilarious.
- Friday Night Lights – If you love sports dramas, watch this. Coach Taylor is one of my most beloved characters.
- Gilmore Girls– Hilarious and heartfelt, I love this show about a mom & daughter!
- Queer Eye (reality)- Literally EVERY EPISODE of Queer Eye makes me cry!! These guys do so much good and lift up so many people that are struggling. It’s a feel good show 🙂
- House of Cards (Netflix original series- first 3 seasons are really great. Like so, so good. Then it starts to go downhill, but still worth a watch.)
- The Pharmacist (documentary)- True story about a pharmacist taking on the prescription drug problem he was seeing in his community after losing his son.
- Making a Murderer (documentary)- This true crime documentary is WILD. It tells the story of a man wrongfully accused and sentenced to prison, who eventually gets out and is in the middle of suing his county for his wrongful arrest when he is arrested again for allegedly murdering a woman. Most of the evidence doesn’t add up…a theory is he is framed by the county so they don’t have to pay him the millions he is suing them for…but that’s just one of the theories! Watch for yourself, so many twists & turns. Season 2 is even better. Hoping for a 3rd season!
- Breaking Bad – Arguably one of the best shows that’s ever been on cable TV about the depths a man will go to in order to provide for his family. So good til the very end.
Some are old favorites that I’ve seen a million times & counting (hello The Office and Gilmore Girls) and some are newer favorites. Hopefully I’m not forgetting any, but I’m sure I probably am. Leave any of your recommendations below 🙂

Bess

Great recommendations! I love the ones filmed in the south! My parents live in the Beaufort area of South Carolina and my husband and I hope to move to Charleston one day (we live in Ohio). The Carolinas are the best states in the country! 🙂
Some of our other favorite Netflix shows are: Dead to Me, You, Space Force, Grace and Frankie, and then of course any movie with Adam Sandler cause he is comedy gold. 🙂
