Fitness has always been a big part of my life and a passion of mine. I grew up playing sports through the end of college, and since then remaining active has been my favorite hobby. I don’t view it as a chore but rather something I truly enjoy and look forward to doing each day! Even during my pregnancy, I continued to work out 5-6 days a week because it just helped me continue to feel “like myself” despite other changes in my body that I had no control over! Finding inspiration on your fitness journey is an important step to making it a lifelong lifestyle.
Since having my baby girl, I’m taking the prescribed amount of rest from the doctor and once I am cleared to get back into exercise (hopefully next week, fingers crossed!) I will be easing myself back into a routine. So far it has just been walks which they told me was okay when I left the hospital, and I am grateful for that movement!! But my life is different now since becoming a mom and that includes a shift in my fitness journey…I want to be a role model for my daughter for treating her body right, for valuing being a strong woman, and for her to ultimately know that anything is possible if she puts her heart and soul into what she’s passionate about. I want her to feel the physical and mental strength that fitness can give her to know she can accomplish anything. I truly can’t say enough about the positive impact on confidence that any woman can gain from a regular exercise routine.
I hope I can spread that same message to you, to know that anything YOU can dream is possible if you just put your heart and soul into it, no matter where you are on your personal fitness journey. You are strong and capable! That’s why the new For Her campaign from Academy Sports + Outdoors has resonated with me so much. You have to feel confident in yourself to try new things and sadly so many women feel self conscious about trying a new workout or going to the gym, and so they don’t ever try. One thing I know helps me feel both confident AND motivated to workout is a new workout wardrobe. A new tank top, sports bra, pair of shorts or leggings, & sneakers can really make a world of difference in my confidence and motivation levels!
Academy has so many great options for fashionable workout wear that help me feel inspired to try something new or go harder at my next workout. Here are some of my current favorites and you can find the links below!
