As a first time mom with a baby due in less than two months, I have been doing all the planning and preparation I can for when she arrives so I can do my best to just enjoy soaking up those newborn moments and not constantly having to run to the store! Stocking up on diapers is on that list! One of the things I tried to research as much as I could was how many diapers you should try to register for/stock up on for the first few months. It’s hard to know for sure how many baby will need and of what size, but in general, this seems to be the recommendation for what’s good to start:
- 2 boxes of Newborn Size
- 4 – 6 boxes of Size 1
- 3 boxes of Size 2
- 3 boxes of Size 3
It seems like a box has anywhere between around 170-200 diapers but it varies some.
Now is really a perfect time to stock up on what we still need because Publix is having such a great promotion on Pampers diapers right now. As of now, I’m mostly getting the Pampers Pure Protection variety, because I like that they are delicate for precious newborns, free of harsh chemicals like chlorine bleaching, fragrance, parabens, and latex. They are clinically proven hypoallergenic and the cotton is responsibly and sustainably sourced. I know everyone says to wait and see what the baby likes best/what fits best, but I am crossing my fingers on these 🙂 Really any and all diapers from Pampers I’d trust just because of the name (there’s a reason they’ve been around so long!) and from what other moms have recommended to me!
Here are the promotion details!

Like I said, now is just a really great time to stock up. Diapers get expensive and babies go through SO many more diapers than you even expect (so I’m told!) so if I can ever get them on sale, I am definitely going to do it!
I hope this post helps you with stocking up on diapers and saving some money in the process!
Happy (diaper) shopping!!

Bess
