I’ll admit, something that was both super exciting and incredibly intimidating to me about pregnancy was about knowing what we would need for baby and what to put on our registry!! As a first time mom I had no idea what things were best to have and recommended, etc. So when I found out that you can go into a buybuy BABY store and get 1-on-1 help, I felt like that was such a great option!! Having the guidance from someone that works there and knows exactly what products are highly rated and important for parents to have took a lot of the stress off of me. Of course I did plenty of my own research, but there was still that factor of “I don’t know what I don’t know”. buybuy BABY made it all much easier and stress free, and today I’m going to share my process of setting up and selecting my items for my baby registry with buybuy BABY!
In The Store
Craig & I made our appointment online (love you can do that!) and met with our registry consultant, Alissandra, to get started! She made sure we were all set up so that our registry would show online with all the important info (due date, gender, etc.) that we wanted to share.
Then she took us around the entire store and shared all the recommended items we may want. She was so helpful! I knew specifically when I was there that I wanted to try out the chairs that they had so Craig & I could find something we both liked and thought was comfortable.
It’s pretty funny…they even give you a fake 12-pound baby to hold so you can test out what the chairs are like when you’re holding a baby! We decided we both loved the Irvington swivel glider recliner by Best Chairs. I don’t see it online but you can call your local store to order it! That’s what we did. We got it in the “snow” cover but there are SO many options to choose from and the stores have swatches so you can look through them all.
I knew I also wanted to check out different swing options and baby carriers, so we got to try those on as well! We put both the 4moms Mamaroo swing and the Ergobaby Omni 360 baby carrier on our registry. The carrier was very important since we love to go on walks and hikes, we wanted something durable for those kinds of activities!
We had also been given the UPPAbaby VISTA stroller as a gift from my grandma, but wanted to look at car seats to go with it. We ended up deciding on the infant car seat by the same brand, the MESA infant car seat by UPPAbaby. Alissandra demonstrated how easy it is to simply snap the car seat in and out of the stroller with the touch of a button.
Of course we continued to add other items to our registry online as well, but it was really helpful to be able to go into the store and actually touch and test some of the “bigger ticket” items to make sure we were getting what we wanted! We had such a great experience and I recommend it to anyone! Here are just a few of the other items we put on our registry, in case you need any ideas:
- BOB Rambler Jogging Stroller
- Graco Pack ‘n Play Quick Connect Portable Napper Deluxe with Bassinet
- Hatch Baby Rest Sound Machine Night Light & Time-to-Rise
- Boppy Luxe Infant Feeding & Support Pillow
- My Brest Friend Nursing Pillow
- Ubbi Diaper Pail
- Aden & Anais Swaddles (obsessed with the prints on these!!)
- Summer Infant 2-Sided Changing Pad
- Owlet Smart Sock Baby Monitor
- Fisher Price Safari Dreams Activity Gym
Among other things!! buybuy BABY really has everything you could need. I love that they also send you on your way at the completion of your appointment with a little goodie bag full of samples and coupons. Such a nice gesture!
