This weekend was the arrival of Hurricane Florence in the Carolinas. We didn’t see the effects until Saturday morning, when it was just pretty windy but not much rain. Then on Sunday, we had a lot more rain and flash flooding in Charlotte. We were pretty lucky where we were. We got rain but no flooding issues at our house and no power outage. So many people across our state have experienced devastating loss of life, homes, and personal property and I feel sick looking at images of what Hurricane Florence was able to do.
Friday night we grabbed Mexican with some friends figuring we may go stir crazy being inside the rest of the weekend. Then that evening it was watching TV (Jack Ryan on Amazon) and wine.
The rest of the weekend was basically just a lot of time inside, on the couch, snacking, watching Jack Ryan (yes we finished season 1…in our defense it was only 8 episodes) and watching the rain fall.
Some meals:
It was nice to have some cozy oatmeal each morning with my coffee…
And Saturday we just threw together some pasta & broccoli (#lazycooking)
How You Can Help Hurricane Florence Relief Efforts
Just wanted to share some ways you can help if you feel so inclined! This article lists out a bunch of different places that you can donate to help. Thank you so much and thank you to everyone that checked in with me personally and sent prayers and well wishes for our state. It is so appreciated.
