Hola amigas! How was your weekend? I have to say, this has been one of the best weekends we’ve had in Charlotte in a while! To start, some of our best friends were up visiting from Florida for a long weekend with their lil baby boy, so our friend group of now 4 married couples all rented a boat to go out on Lake Norman for the day! It was really lovely weather until a huge afternoon thunderstorm rolled in, but that’s okay.
We stopped for lunch at Hello Sailor, which had really great cocktails and food. The only negative thing I can say is I asked if it would be possible to add avocado to my dish and the waitress said no (I thought she was kidding at first) so I said really? And she said yea, no. Apparently the restaurant only buys the exact number of avocados for one particular salad on the menu and nothing else. How you know how many salads you’re going to need each day is a mystery to me, maybe they have a crystal ball? We also were planning to get an avocado for the baby to eat for lunch but again, answer’s no. So, moral of the story: don’t go there and ask for an avocado lol. Besides that the day was great 🙂
I mean just look at that sweet face!!! I can’t!
Saturday morning Craig & I slept in (until about 8:30, whoop whoop!) and after I had my breakfast of ezekiel toast and peanut butter, I headed out for my run. I did 6 miles and then finished with a little full body circuit that I shared on my IG! If you wanna check it out, you can find it under the “Fitness” icon on my Instagram Highlights 🙂
Then it was off to the breweries to meet our friends again and just hang out. We spent the afternoon between a couple different breweries around Charlotte and luckily it was cloudy so the weather wasn’t hot at all!
Just look at my sweet friends and their babies!!! I am obsessed with them.
Sweater | Shorts (similar) | Sandals | Sunnies | Necklace | Bag (similar) | Bracelet
It was even cool enough where I had to put my sweater on at one point! It’s a lightweight one but still, temperature on point!
After we wrapped up at the breweries, Craig & I decided we wanted sushi for dinner, because we were in Plaza Midwood neighborhood close to our favorite sushi spot, Akahana. It seems like a little hole in the wall but it’s so good and always buy one, get one free, so yes please to that!
Akahana has the BEST spicy edamame on the planet. So good.
That night we just came home, Craig made us a couple of Old Fashioned drinks and we watched Planet Earth on the couch. Day drinking and then on the couch in PJs by 8pm, that is my kind of schedule haha 🙂
Sunday was one of the most productive days we have had in some time. We got up and went to church…
Then came home, made lunch, went on a 3 mile walk around the neighborhood and on that walk decided we wanted to make some updates to our master bathroom. Craig had some yard work he wanted to do first, so while he did that, I dug deep into my closet and got rid of probably over half of the clothes I had in there and my dresser. Just stuff I haven’t touched in years or maybe old work clothes I don’t need anymore. So I just donated them to Goodwill and we took about 6 huge bags of stuff there that afternoon.
I also went through a lot of my gently used stuff…I get sent so many things sometimes I have double or I just don’t wear them much, so I pulled that stuff out and will be posting it to my Poshmark very soon. I will keep you posted on when, but its a ton of practically brand new/like new clothes, activewear, shoes, accessories, etc.
After the Goodwill dropoff, we made a stop at Lowe’s to get some stuff we needed for the bathroom mini reno. Craig got to work on that and I started prepping dinner…it was already 6pm when we got home! The day flies by.
We finally sat down for dinner around 8:30. Spicy Veracruz-style Shrimp from Blue Apron.
SO GOOD!
Don’t forget this week I have some giveaways for ya, including a Nordstrom gift card giveaway coming on Thursday!! Just in time for the Anniversary Sale.
Have a great day loves!
What was the best part of your weekend? Mine was definitely just seeing my sweet friends and their babies and being around so many ppl I love at once!
Do you prefer to casually day drink and hang out so you can go to bed earlier or are you more of a social night owl? Team “I can drink 2-3 drinks throughout the day then I’d love to be asleep by 10” over here!
xo,
Bess
