Happy Tuesday babes…I don’t know about you but I’m pretty glad Monday is over. Despite the fact that today has been the busiest and Monday-est Tuesday ever, we are still getting closer to the weekend! I’ve been up since 4:30am and started work at 6am…working all day then shooting pictures with Deeana for the blog right after that, then I will finally get my run in. THEN I’m sitting down with Craig to do our taxes. DOESN’T TODAY SOUND SO FUN?! Lol. We are going to order Mexican food & are having margaritas so that definitely helps.
In actual fun news, I cut my hair!! You may remember that I got extensions back in December after what felt like many months or even years of trying to grow it out long. I got the extensions really sort of as a stop-gap to give myself that longer hair while my real hair grew out. But then I realized that really long hair is a lot higher maintenance than shorter hair, and if you know me then you know I am a pretty low maintenance kind of gal. My life’s goal is to be able to get ready in like 5 minutes flat 🙂 So this short hair really helps with that!! (That is also why I am obsessed with microblading my eyebrows...that has really cut down on getting ready time.)
Another thing that I started noticing about 2 weeks before getting my extensions put in was that I was seeing that I was starting to grow out new “baby hairs” as I call them, but basically new hair around my hair line was starting to grow…I think that this is 100% is because of my use of Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides. I’m excited to be able to watch how healthy and strong my hair will be now that I can focus on taking that everyday!
I’m also in the process of trying to lighten my hair a bit for spring & summer, but my hair babe Mariel from Re Salon recommended that we not go so light all at one time because it can be really unhealthy for your hair and it can even make your hair break off to color it so dramatically in one visit. So keep that in mind for your reference if you are even looking to go lighter! So I’m in my “in between” color right now.
I’m still getting used to styling the shorter hair, but I know y’all have been wanting some hair tutorials so I plan to still do those! The way I’ve been doing it so far is honestly exactly how I did it with longer hair, so I think regardless of length you should be able to follow along.
I will also be sharing my fave products I use to keep it healthy. If y’all have any specific questions, let me know in the comments!!
When is the last time you did something dramatic to your hair? I don’t think I’ve had hair this short since I was in high school…right after I chopped off a foot for Locks for Love!

Bess

I love you new hair. It looks so healthy! I cut mine short last summer. It was just time. Long hair takes so much work. Short hair is SO much easier to blow dry! I also wear my hair in a bun at work five days a week so cutting it wasn’t too big of a deal.

Hey Ashley!! Ah thank you so much!! So happy you stop by here to read 🙂 Yes my hair is balayage and lately I have more color in the front pieces (but I’m going to be likely getting those back to a little darker soon, they’re kinda aggressive lol) but yes balayage! I’ve had it for years and years and I love it. Also if you haven’t watched my IGTV video I shared a new video on there about how I do my messy waves!!
