I’m obsessed with any and all things festive during the month of December and that includes this Red Wine Winter Spiced Sangria. In college I always wanted Sangria on my birthday (January 18th) so for whatever reason, I love a red wine sangria in the winter. But to make this one a little more Christmassy, I’ve used pears & cranberries for red & green pops of color. It’s definitely a fun & easy cocktail to both make and drink! This would be a great drink to bring to any holiday parties 🙂
Ingredients:
- 1 bottle red wine (go for a fruity, full-bodied red)
- 1/2 cup brandy (can also use rum)
- 1/2 cup triple sec
- 2 tbsp organic cane sugar
- 1/2 cup pear or apple juice
- 1 pear, cut into small cubs
- 1 cup cranberries
- 2-3 cinnamon sticks
To make:
- Add brandy, apple or pear juice, pears, cranberries, & sugar to large pitcher or decanter. Muddle for about 1 minute.
- Add bottle of red wine & stir well. Put cinnamon sticks in pitcher.
- Put in fridge for 1-2 hours before serving to let the flavors combine. Stir occasionally.
- Pour into wine glasses over ice if desired, and garnish with a pear slice & cranberry
Enjoy 🙂

Bess
