If you follow me on Insta you may have seen on IG story or in my posts that I went back for homecoming this weekend. It was so good to be back. The women’s soccer team had a game on Friday night so I was pumped I was able to get there for that… for those of you who don’t know already, I played on the team for the four years I was in college and miss it so much!
Friday night we got to campus to walk around a bit before heading over to the game. It was the most beautiful night for soccer 🙂
The girls won 2-0 and we had a nice alumni turnout for the game!
Saturday morning I was up at the crack of dawn to get my run in…luckily I didn’t have too many adult beverages the night before, just a couple of glasses of wine and about 17 pieces of pizza, so I had plenty of energy to run!
5 miles in one of my favorite places. Winston-Salem has a part of my heart and I will never let it go!!
I couldn’t ask for a better run view!
Then there was an alumni pick up game at 10am that I initially wasn’t going to play in, but I was fully peer pressured into doing it (it wasn’t difficult to talk me into it) and I had so much fun. Definitely rusty but it just reminded me of that love I have for a game that really was my entire life until I graduated from college!! Also, it reminded me how hard soccer is…as much as I work out…y’all I was winded just in a few minutes playing half field!! Geez. I can’t believe I could ever do that for 90 minutes on a big field. And I was so sore Sunday and today, but totally worth it.
After that it was time for the tailgate and football game.
The Deacs won, yay!
We came back to Charlotte Saturday night and I was passed out asleep on the couch by 10pm. Girl can’t hang y’all. I slept over 10 hours for the first time in awhile which was so nice!! I think the soccer game took it out of me, honestly! Haha 🙂
Sunday consisted of wearing pajamas most of the day, ordering food from postmates (twice, oops) and getting ready for the week ahead.
Another fun little thing is that today is Craig and my 2-year anniversary of getting engaged 🙂 Here are some pictures of our engagement photo session, which we took at Anne Close Springs Greenway in Fort Mill, South Carolina, since that was where we were engaged it felt special to do the pictures there too!
A few of those are selfies on the day we were engaged too 🙂
Hope y’all have a great night!! Don’t forget to send me any questions you want covered for this week’s Q&A!
xo,
Bess
