Hi beauties! I’ve got another Wine Wednesday Q&A comin’ atcha. I am loving these posts and your questions!! Please keep sending them in…they are so fun to answer and I feel like I’m chatting with girlfriends and making a better connection with y’all!!
What is your favorite red wine and your favorite white wine?
Well, this is actually a pretty tough question for me to just pick one. For white wine, I will have to say that Kendall Jackson Chardonnay is my favorite. The Vintner’s Reserve, not the Avant. It’s a great price point generally $15 or less a bottle. Harris Teeter grocery stores often have it on sale for $9.99 a bottle. I always have a bottle of this in the fridge!
For red wine…that’s tough. I think if I had to pick, that Cabernet Sauvignon would be my favorite red although I do really love Carmenere and Malbec. The Louis Martini Cabernet Sauvignon is really delicious, and generally around $18-20 a bottle. I also lately have been enjoying the Clos du Bois Cabernet and it’s a lower price point. You really can’t go wrong with any of the Apothic or Dark Horse wines, all the ones I’ve tried I’ve liked, and I also like 19 crimes Cab Sauv…however not a big fan of their red blend. If you can find Vistamar Sepia Carmenere Reserva at Total Wine, grab it. I love! My grandma once bought me an entire case of this and it was the best gift ever, lol.
What are some of your favorite snacks when you’re on the go or in a rush and don’t have time to prep anything?
I’ll be honest I am pretty lazy generally about meal prep and all that, so I have to make meals and snacks super easy otherwise I wouldn’t be able to do it, lol! Snacks I always have in the pantry and usually eat most days include:
- Luna bars (white macadamia nut is my favorite flavor)
- Raw almonds & unsweetened coconut flakes (I love to mix these together in a ziplock)
- Growing naturals protein packs with almond milk
- Fruit like bananas, sliced strawberries, blueberries
- Popcorn (currently loving square organics protein popcorn!)
- Veggie chips
- Dairy free yogurts
- Kombuchas & Kevita Probiotic Drinks
- Carrots
- Ezekiel bread with almond or peanut butter
I love salads but I get bored with them easily. Do you have any salad recipes that I could try to change it up??
Yes! I recently posted this Asian Inspired Salad recipe, but one of my go to salads that are especially perfect for fall and winter is this “Winter Solstice” quinoa salad! I am now seriously craving it!!
What are a few staple investment pieces that you swear by for fall & winter that I could wear year after year?
Yes! I love this question!! So first, I think a pea coat is definitely something every gal needs in her closet. A black one is always a no brainer, but I also love camel colored ones. I love this one and this one.
Last year Craig got me a pair of these and I love them!! I just need a snow storm to really put them to good use, LOL.
Then of course I don’t think I could have enough scarves…
I love this one, this one, and this one!
Then these leggings are perf for fall and winter and I wear them nonstop. Also they are the most flattering things that have ever existed. I tell you what…they are worth every penny.
Alright babes, that’s all for now!! Keep emailing me your questions or leave them in the comments below!!
xo,
Bess
