First weekend back home after the first full week back at work after vacation. I gotta say this week back at work was brutalllll. I guess mentally it was just hard to get back into the swing of things then there was just a ton of stuff going on too. I’m sure you’ve all experienced that but yeah…vacation > work.
I know I mentioned on my post yesterday that Craig and I stayed in Friday night, had some pasta & wine and just chilled. Cozy nights on the couch are my fave.
Shop the Outfit: Sweater | Cami Tank Top | Distressed Denim Shorts
Then Saturday AM I got in my workout and did an 8 mile run which was the longest I’ve done in a while!! After that run I met up with a couple friends, Deeana (who takes a bunch of my blog photos but is the coolest, sweetest girl) and fellow blogger Mattison! We went to Napa on Providence here in Charlotte and I had no idea how delicious their brunch was there…also mimosas for the win.
My brunch outfit:
T-shirt (similar here) | Shorts | Sandals | Bag (similar here and here) | Sunnies | Necklace
Then after the run and a couple mimosas at brunch + a full belly of yummy food, I was ready for an afternoon nap. But, I didn’t take one…lol. I did lay on my bed on my computer for a while just resting, but I wanted to try to go to bed early Saturday night. I’m still kinda catching up from our redeye home from vacay last week. It is really easy to mess with my sleep schedule and really hard for me to catch back up which is super annoying. I wish I was one of those people that could just run on not much sleep but, nope, not me.
I don’t know about y’all but we are definitely most inclined to stay home and chill on the weekends. We go out occasionally but it’s definitely the exception to the rule. Saturday evening we did head out for some errands and grabbed some sushi takeout, plus swung by Total Wine for Craig to grab some beer that he likes…where we saw Cam Newton! I’ve lived in Charlotte for 3 years now and I’d never seen him in person (minus from the nosebleed section of Bank of America Stadium at a Panthers game) so I was definitely star struck, lol. Greg Olsen and Luke Keuchly go to my church so we see them every now and then, but I’d never seen Cam!! It was exciting 🙂 Also, he’s the most enormous human being I have ever laid my eyes on. Craig and I have been talking about it since we saw him and we have decided that in fact he is not a human being he’s definitely some sort of superhuman.
Sunday is my rest day from working out and I generally just like to catch up on chores around the house, blog stuff, and rest. Craig and I went on our weekly grocery run (you can see our normal grocery list here) and also went on a walk Sunday evening. The humidity broke a little in Charlotte (a LITTLE) so it was more enjoyable than usual in August to be out on a little stroll.
We even decided to eat our dinner out on the back porch!
If you’ve already joined my email list then you know what else is coming this week plus a fun giveaway coming tomorrow!! If you haven’t already joined, I’d love if you subscribed to my emails here!! I generally just email once per week so I’m not going to be flooding your inbox or anything 🙂
One more thing…I am going to be starting up a new Q&A series on the blog and I would love to take any questions you may have whether it be about blogging, working out, clothes, just life in general or anything else! Feel free to email me questions or, if you feel comfortable, you can simply leave them in the comments section of any post, I will see them & make note!
xo,
Bess

Can’t believe you saw Cam! You’re on a roll with Panthers players… But Greg always wins (and I know Craig agrees haha)

I’m definitely more inclined to stay in on the weekends as well. Nothing like our couch, wine and Netflix!
