Hi friends! Happy Sunday. You may notice something different over here…or you might not have noticed! It’s not a huge change, but I’ve decided to permanently (so I say now, but that is the intent) change my blog name. The Fit Fave was one that I unfortunately just never felt super connected to, and I have spent hours and hours if not days thinking over what name would be more appropriate for my blog…a blog that documents my life, my passions, etc. How could I ever come up with something that would not only cover my life’s ever-changing passions now, but also the potential changes to come? And not only that but something that still felt true and descriptive of me? Something clever was just not coming to me, and then I realized the only real way I could name this blog something that would always describe me and my life was to simply name it after myself. Brilliant, huh? 🙂 I’m still working some kinks out and you’ll still see thefitfave.com work and have URLs for my posts on there until I’m able to get everything switched over. But I didn’t want my site to be down in the meantime.
So, without further adieu, please let me (re)-introduce you to my blog. I’d love to say the content isn’t going to change, but I think it will. In a good way. I miss more regularly documenting my life, being more than just surface level. I want to reconnect with my readers and share more than just what I am wearing. Don’t get me wrong, I still plan to share that, but even that I think you will notice a shift. I will admit I started getting caught up in simply finding the cutest outfits I could to “keep up” so to speak with the industry, and the other day I looked at some pictures and was just straight up like “I would never actually wear that anywhere.” It’s hard for me to say that, because I don’t want anyone to think I’m disingenuous and my goal is to be my real self, but it’s the truth. That’s not to say that I didn’t like what I was posting or think the outfits were cute or whatever. They were still things I liked, but just not my real, every day looks. And that’s what I want to share because I want to share my life more as it unfolds, not just with my readers but also for myself; I want to look back at this one day and see that it was a journal of my life and an accurate representation. I hope you’ll allow me the grace of making those mistakes as I work to refocus my blog and my Instagram, since that is largely where I share more “in the moment” updates. You’ll notice a difference there too, one more in line with me and my real life!
I wrote these things down the other day as I was thinking through what I really wanted this blog to be about and what I wanted to share. It helps me to write it down and get out of my head for a minute. I had no idea I would actually end up sharing them here but I think they will help me get my point across…
I could ramble on and on but instead I’d like to get started on moving forward! Guess what folks? If you don’t like what path you’re on in life, then change it! You’re in charge of your life and there are no rules to say you can’t make a u-turn or a left turn or right or whatever turn you’re feelin’. Just do it.
WEEKLY WORKOUT SCHEDULE
Okay, so how I’m feeling about these Weekly Workout Posts in all honesty is a little burnt out. I put a lot of time and effort into these workouts and putting up the posts every week is definitely time consuming, but I have never really minded that. I don’t, however, have a good concept of if there are even people out there that use the workouts? I don’t get many comments on those posts so it’s hard for me to really gauge it. I’d love to hear from any of y’all that are out there: Do you enjoy the weekly workout schedule? Do you follow it/use it?
Since I’m feeling a little burnt out on creating my own workouts for now, I’ve decided that I’m going to take a little break from creating the workouts and instead do some other workouts that weren’t my brainchild. It’s nice not to think about the workout sometimes and just do whatever your trainer tells you! Perhaps you relate to this if you do use my workouts every week. That being said, I won’t leave you high and dry. I will still share the workouts that I plan to do in case you want direction. To keep it easy on myself, for the next 12 weeks I am planning to do the BBG 2.0 Workout Program. I’m sure you’ve all heard of Kayla Itsines and the Bikini Body Guide workouts. I’ve done the 1.0 workout program before, so I am going to challenge myself a bit and move on up to 2.0. I have all of the workouts over on my Pinterest page if you want to join me, and I’ll still be sure to include these in the schedule each week.
FYI- I will be doing BBG on M-W-F. I’m keeping T-Th-Sat as my run days. The first week is “week 13” because the BBG 1.0 program is weeks 1-12. I recommend starting with 1.0 if you are newer since the 2.0 program seems slightly more advanced.
Monday: BBG 2.0 Week 13 Legs
Tuesday: 30-45 minute run
Wednesday: BBG 2.0 Week 13 Arms
Thursday: 30-45 minute run
Friday: BBG 2.0 Week 13 Abs
Saturday: 45-60 minute run
Sunday: Rest day or light walk & stretch
So that’s it! Thanks for reading my stream of consciousness of these thoughts over here 🙂 I am looking forward to the future!
Questions of the day:
Have you ever had a time in your life when you just realized you had to make a change? Jobs, relationships, etc.? When did you finally feel like it was right, and where you scared to make it or excited (maybe both)?
Have you ever done BBG before? Let me know your thoughts on the weekly workout schedule and what you’d like to see!
xo,
Bess

Hello Bess!
I’ve been following your blog for years now. (I hope that doesn’t sound creepy. I’m just a regular 28 year old girl, who loves sports, food and fashion 🙂 ) I admire you for putting in all the work for this blog while working a full time job! I enjoy your workout posts (I printscreen them and try doing the workouts during the week, if I have time besides basketball practice ) as much as your personal posts. I must say, I started reading your blog because of those topics (sports, everyday life, Maverick and food) and not because of your outfit posts. You seem like you have your life put together and that you are really happy with yourself and your choices in life. That’s what makes me keep reading. (But don’t get me wrong: I’d read your blog too, if you were in a bad mood and would write about that. Just not ALL the time hehe) I just really like how you write.
I am glad, that you are honest and that you are being real with your readers about the outfit posts.
I can’t wait to read more about your everyday life, your “real“ outfits, if you had a good run that day, if you have found a new pancake receipt, etc… just do you!
About your weekly workout posts: Don’t you write it down and post it on here for yourself as well? To stay accountable to your self? Maybe you would regret not posting the workouts after a while?! Right now, you can scroll down and see your accomplishments written down. Must be nice 🙂
All the best all the way from Switzerland (hence the bad English)

Hey Bess, You may or may not remember me 🙂 We used to be in touch via email when I had my own blog ~5 years ago. Anyways, just wanted to congratulate you on sticking with it and coming such a long way! I love following your posts and Instagram. You’re looking great, love the style and the caliber of photography is on point. I totally get what you mean about making the fashion more everyday. I LOVE looking at the outfits, but will usually not buy it because I could never picture myself wearing it out enough to justify getting it. I do end up buying everyday wear though quite a bit when I see it on a blog or IG 🙂 Keep it up girl!!!
Bess says

I am excited to read more real life posts though! So thank you for putting the time into your weekly workout posts they are appreciated!
