Hi loves! I hope y’all are having a great weekend. We are at the beach aka my happy place 🙂 I’m enjoying relaxing, drinking plenty of daiquiris, but also still getting my workouts in! I personally love to workout on vacation, it’s just something that I love doing so my days feel incomplete without it, and I pass out way easier in the sand if I’ve worn myself out a little bit with a workout, lol. I’m going to share some of my tips to staying motivated and getting your sweat sessions in while on vacay!
- My first tip is do your workout first thing!! I’m all about not waking up with an alarm on vacation but generally my body will still wake me up by 8am or so. If I want to eat breakfast or have coffee before I will do that, but then I get a workout in and over with so I can hit the beach by 10 or 10:30! (I have days when for whatever reason I won’t do it in the morning, and in that case I come up from the beach around 4 just before happy hour so I can get 30 mins of a workout in then I can enjoy my daiquiri on the beach!) But I always think just getting it in first thing so things don’t come up is the easiest policy!
- You will enjoy your day more if you workout! Part of my ability to relax comes from if I have done my workout that day, unless of course it’s my rest day) and I’m convinced you’ll have a better day after releasing some of those endorphins!
- Take a long walk! Okay so you don’t want to go for a run or do a circuit, which are my two go-to’s anytime. But if you’re on the beach or elsewhere on vacation, you’re in a beautiful place to go explore or take a long walk! Squeeze some squats or lunges in, maybe some pushups? And you’re done!
- I stay on my same workout schedule of alternating running days with circuit days while on vacay so going on a run is easy, and then for my circuits you know that I love bodyweight ones so if I don’t feel like packing the car with dumbbells (I have done this before) I will plan out my circuits to all be bodyweight but I will still get in a great strength and cardio session in one.
- 30 minutes is all you need! I usually keep my vacay workouts 30 mins or less, because while I like to workout on vacation I don’t want to be spending ALL my day doing it! I think even 20 minutes could work if you wanted to do less. Just do something. There are tons of bodyweight workouts on my blgo that are perfect for traveling!
- If you’re dedicated to making fitness and working out a lifestyle, I think it’s important to get a workout in the majority of your days. I think rest days are important too of course but getting in exercise most 4-5 days of the week at least is the best way to just make it a habit you can stick to!
PS- I love these leggings, they are super flattering and functional. How cute is that pattern?!
