I was recently sent the T3 Whirl Trio to try out and I’m such a fan of beachy waves, especially as summer rolls around, so I was super excited about it! I have heard amazing things about how well it holds curls and how fast it can do your hair. I currently hold each curl on my old curling iron for at least 30 seconds or something like that…I mean that adds up!! With the T3, I only have to hold each piece of hair around it for about 5-10 seconds. More on that later.
To start I wanna give you some stats about the Whirl Trio. Basically, as I’m sure you’ve gathered from the above photo and the “trio” name, but this baby is basically a 3-in-1 tool. “With three interchangeable barrels, the Whirl Trio opens up a myriad of styling possibilities. Transition from spiral curls to mermaid waves, from tousled waves to flipped ends—the options are as endless as your imagination.”

My way to beachy waves is super easy! Here are my steps:
- Divide your hair into half up and half down sections. If your hair is super thick you may need do to more than 2 sections.
- Starting with the bottom section, take 1 inch sections of hair and alternate between curling away from your face and towards your face (always do your front pieces away from your face!! I actually like to do everything in front of the ear away from the face, this is personal preference)
- Leave the bottom 3 inches out and don’t curl it. This is key for the beachy look!!!
- Repeat this until the bottom half is done, then take down the top half a repeat.
- Once everything is curled, run your fingers through your hair to separate the pieces even more and kind of tousle the ends. Spray with a hair spray and texturizer.
That’s pretty much it!! Not hard at all, and even easier when T3 does most of the time and work for you! PS, for this I used the 1 inch straight barrel. I think it’s the best size for beachy waves. Also, I use this hairspray and this is my favorite texture spray.
