Happy Hump Day!! Today I wanted to share a “What I Ate” type of post to share some recent snacks and meals! I love reading these types of posts on other people’s blogs and Instagrams because it gives me ideas of new things to try or to incorporate! However I must disclose I’m not a registered dietitian and and not suggesting any sort of food plan for you, just sharing what I do on a normal day! Another disclaimer: I eat a lot 🙂 And I’m usually thinking about my next meal, while having my current meal. Ha!
Smoothies have been making a comeback in my routine and I have been craving them!! I suspect I will be having lots of these as the weather continues to warm up.
Breakfasts lately I have been crushing some protein pancakes, but will also occasionally do a smoothie or oatmeal if I’m running low on time. The protein pancakes just take a bit longer to prep and make (not that much longer, but let’s be honest it’s not as easy as pushing the “blend” button or the “start” button on the microwave, lol.
I recently got a waffle maker and I use that all the time now 🙂
You already know I love some protein bars, and in case you missed that post you can see the ones I like here!
I’ve been loving Siggi’s yogurt after my friend Em recommended it to me! It has great nutrition stats and great taste. Love the strawberry kind!!
I also make these little protein balls all the time, and grab a couple as a pick me up if hunger strikes throughout the day! They’re super dense so 1 or 2 usually does the trick!
Okay, and this isn’t every day but a few times a week I am having a glass of wine after work and Craig and I like to have cocktails on Friday nights. We may go out to get them or make them at home.
I also like the FitVine Wine as a “healthier” wine alternative!! You can read more about it here about what makes it a cleaner wine and use code FitFave10 to get 10% off your online order!
I love to take kombucha to work to have with whatever I have for lunch. It really helps keep me full through the afternoon!
For lunches I typically have a salad with chicken or quinoa and veggies.
Dinners are always different but I try to always have a veggie and a lean protein for us! We have been doing HelloFresh meals this week so I will def share that experience after our week is up! We also try to do a meatless meal at least once a week so we love brown rice or quinoa bowls with steamed veggies on top. Sometimes we will do a gluten free pasta with olive oil and steamed broccoli.
Those are pretty much the highlights! I guess I should not forget the most important part…I have chocolate for dessert pretty much every night. I joke with Craig that I can’t go to sleep without my chocolate 😉 Usually just one of those Dove dark chocolate squares or a small handful of dark chocolate chips.
What does your normal day of eating look like? What is something you eat every day??
xo,
Bess
