When Craig & I were searching for a house, we naturally had a list of things we really wanted the home to have in it. Now, I can’t say I actually voiced my need to have a specific area for a bar cart, figuring I would make it work wherever, but I really lucked out that the home we ended up buying has this perfect space for it. It’s just outside the kitchen in the open living area so it’s perf for making a cocktail!
I love styling a bar cart, I will change up the style and placement of everything on whim to freshen things up! So I’m going to share some of my must-haves and what’s currently on our bar cart. Oh, and it’s not technically a cart, it’s a table I found at HomeGoods but it serves the same purpose! One day I may upgrade to this beauty, or maybe this one! But for now this one does the trick. Getting yourself a little bar area doesn’t have to cost much 🙂 I think I spent $60 on my table!
The cutout in our wall also provides some extra built-in shelving which is always helpful.
So here are the things I’d recommend. Obviously, you want to stock the bar with the alcohol that you like and that you may serve to guests! Wine and liquor bottles look nice on display too. Definitely stock up on mixing essentials, like limes, lemons, oranges, Pellegrino, etc. Just check out the recipe for what drinks you like and stock the bar depending on your tastes! We have plenty of stuff for an Old Fashioned as well as for Dirty Martinis, Margaritas, Vodka Soda with Lime, and more.
PS our shelf is here and we love it! Such a good rustic/farmhouse type piece.
And here are some essential tools & decor that I think you gotta have.

Bess
