I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again…you do not need a gym to get in shape. While I do have access to a gym at work, I haven’t personally had a gym membership in over 3 years. When I do use the gym at work (generally just once a week) I use it more for time’s sake, when I have a chance to workout over lunch. But I almost always use the same equipment that I have access to at home!
These are my essentials for exercising at home:
- Dumbbells. I have 2 different weight sets, a lower weight and a higher weight. The lower weight is 5lbs and higher is 10 lbs. I travel with these sometimes too, so that way they don’t weigh me down too much!
- Kettlebell. I have a 12 lb kettlebell and would love to have another slightly higher weight one.
- A mat. Necessary to have for ab work, at home yoga and stretching!
- Bosu Ball. This is one of my all-time favorite pieces of equipment. It’s worth the investment in my opinion!
- Ankle Weights. I wouldn’t say that these are an absolute necessity, but they do make leg & booty workouts more effective!!
- Foam Roller. Great for recovery!
The great news is you can get most of these at Target, which I think is where I got all of my equipment!
Do you workout at home?
What is on your must-haves list for working out at home?
