I feel like the topic of this post is somewhat of a lifelong quest for me. Born with fine, thin, straight hair that would never hold a curl, I always wanted thicker locks with big beautiful waves.
I tried lots of things and failed throughout the years (I was pretty much dumbfounded as to how to correctly use a curling iron even in college) I finally figured it out.
Things that help make your hair appear fuller and thicker:
1. Don’t wash it every day. Do Not! I wash my hair every other day or every other 2 days. I extend it as long as possible. It helps when I’m too lazy to wash my hair and also it will help your hair hold style way better. Use a dry shampoo and be on your merry way 🙂 If it’s after a workout and you’re sweaty, take the hair dryer to it for a few minutes up around the roots.
2. And the point above segways into my next point! Invest in a great dry shampoo! I’ve tried so many and I actually like to use a combo. I use the Dry Bar dry shampoo to get rid of greasiness (it’s the best I’ve ever used) and then just a few spritzes of the Herbal Essences dry shampoo for the smell since I workout nearly everyday. It smells so good. I use the Dry Bar up around my roots and the Herbal Essences lower down the hair at the ends.
3. A good curling iron is important. You can’t go wrong with Hot Tools. I use this one.
4. Make your way over to Fave 4’s site and introduce yourself to their amazing products. I swear by the Texture Takeover Oomph Enhancing Hairspray and the Twice as Thick Thickening Cream.
5. I always notice my nails & hair grow faster when I consistently take a multivitamin.
Those are my main tips! Do you have any favorite tips or products?
Would be happy to share a video tutorial of how I put the curls/waves into my hair if anyone is interested! Let me know 🙂

Bess
