Picking up where we left off from the delicious complimentary breakfast and french press coffee, Day two of our getaway was underway. While on one hand this place is perfect for a getaway as a couple, it’s also good for personal quiet time. Craig is a big outdoorsy guy, and so after we had breakfast together he went on to go fly fishing for a few hours and I did my workout and then headed to the pool.
I had it all to myself! Again, it is SO quiet. I read some and just closed my eyes and laid there quietly for a while and took some deep breaths.
That was the majority of my day, plus a nap back at the room. Afternoon naps are clutch, y’all. A necessity for a relaxing and rejuvenating getaway in my book!
Don’t worry, I was up in time for cocktail hour 😉
Then we headed over to the Nantahala Outdoor Center for dinner at River’s End. We sat right over the water on the porch and it was lovely!
We wanted to go somewhere for a fast and early dinner because we had a reservation in the Treetop Cabana for sunset and we didn’t want to miss a minute!
We grabbed a bottle of wine to take to the cabana with us and headed on up. The treetop cabana is located above the resort, literally in the treetops! You take a little trail into the woods up to these stairs, which lead you up to the most breath-taking space I’ve ever been in.
It is magical! The appointments in the cabana last for an hour and a half and it flies by because of how relaxing it is. There are a variety of soaking salts to make the bath with and they smell so good! You can plug in your own music or they have this super soothing spa music and we chose to just leave that playing.
Needless to say, I slept that night harder and more soundly than I have in so long. I can’t even remember the last time I slept that well!! Ahhh.
The next morning we got up in time to get to breakfast (it goes from 8am to 10:30am) and it was everything. I doubled up on the french press coffee and had an extra mini-muffin because why not! Loved every bite and sip!!
Craig and I had a little more personal time before we headed out. Craig went mountain biking and I did a run and hill sprints for my workout. Craig is going to share his adventures fly fishing and mountain biking soon so stay tuned for that!! Here is a sneak peak of a view from the trail he where he biked:
While I waiting on Craig to return, I enjoyed getting some sun on the porch with this view one last time for this view.
We are already excited to plan our trip back!! And I’m excited for YOU to go experience it.
