This past weekend was a low key one at home but it was much needed to kind of rest and just get some things checked off the wedding to-do list 😉
Friday I kicked off the weekend with a workout and a post-workout blueberry banana protein smoothie.
Then that night we went to Bad Daddy’s for some burgers…we had been craving them all week. And those sweet potato fries! OMG. I usually get the burger sans bun with white cheddar cheese and mushrooms on top. Then I pretty much go ham dipping into those sauces on the side (bad daddy’s sauce, chipotle ranch, honey mustard for the fries!)
After dinner we drove over to South End to see about getting a drink at a brewery and hanging out, but the skies turned dark dramatically fast and this was what we raced to beat home before the sky opened up!
Needless to say it was perfect weather for snuggling on the couch!
The next morning I fueled up with some protein pancakes and headed out on a 6 mile run.
It was such a muggy run I had to take my water bottle on the run with me because I was sweating like crazy.
I immediately stretched and cooled down after and made a smoothie to rehydrate. I am all about smoothies in this heat.
Salad for lunch later on…with a puppy looking on begging me to drop something!
Later that afternoon Craig and I took Maverick to hike and swim at Lake Wylie.
That night we went to 204 North for some cocktails and then we headed over to Akahana for sushi!
Sundays are my rest days usually although for some reason this past Sunday I really struggled with not working out. I mentally wanted to but I knew my legs needed a break. So, we got up, had breakfast, went to church, got groceries, had lunch, then I got some more boxes checked off the wedding checklist 🙂 I got this welcome sign for the wedding and I am so excited to have it there and then it be a piece we can have in our home for years to come <3
