It is sort of surreal to realize that my bachelorette party has come and gone! The wedding isn’t until October, but April is Charleston is hard to beat and it was the best time to be able to get the most of my friends together! We actually stayed in Folly Beach because I wanted to be able to have a beach day.
I put together a little gift set for each lovely lady that came all the way to South Carolina for me, which included:
- Mini champagne bottles (personalized by me with fancy gold sharpies)
- Super cute watermelon tote bags (that are sold out but this one is also cute!)
- Flash tattoos
- Umbrella straws (necessary for margarita consumption)
- Chapstick (you can never have enough)
- Sole Serum
- Advil for everyone!
Look at this cute tank they got for us for the weekend?! Referencing Beyonce of course. #thefuturemrscarterbachtour!!! Beyonce’s tour shirts were “The Mrs. Carter Tour” so we just threw in the bach part and were good to go! #drunkinlove 🙂
We all got there on either Thursday night or Friday morning, and on Friday during the day we went into Charleston (an easy 15-20 min drive) to explore, sight-see, shop, have lunch, etc.! I am totally content just walking around town because I love looking at all the gorgeous old homes and buildings. The place has a great vibe which is probably why I love it so much 🙂
We went to Cru Cafe for lunch that day, got some drinks and so much delicious food. We split truffle fries and fried oysters for appetizers and I got the turkey avocado sandwich for my entree. They slow roast and smoke the turkey…it is amazing. After that we went to The Vendue for some rooftop drinks before heading back to the house to get ready for the evening. We got a round of strawberry basil lemonade which is made with Ciroc Red Berry Vodka, Basil, & Housemade Strawberry Lemonade. It sure is pretty too!
Friday night was dinner at home, where I got to open my gifts! I requested bikinis instead of lingerie so I am pumped for those! Look at how cute these are! Love it. Ready for that honeymoon!!
After that we went to beach bars in Folly. I wore this romper because although it looks fancy, it was under $30. Yup! I found some similar ones here and here too. My earrings are coral and have tassels and are so fun!! I completed the look with the obligatory pink “Future Mrs. Carter” sash which was fun 🙂 You sure do get a lot of attention as the bride on your bach party!
Saturday morning was sort of a slow go waking up as you can imagine, but I managed to still get in a 4 mile run with a couple of my bridesmaids. It wasn’t my best run but I still did it, ha! Later that day we went to the beach for a few hours which was perfect.
That evening it was time to go out in Charleston! We went to dinner at The Watch but got drinks on the rooftop beforehand. Rosé for me!
The food was so good. We got the hushpuppies appetizer (served with pimiento cheese, YUM) and bacon deviled eggs. Southern food for the win, y’all. I got the burger for my main course with more truffle fries as the side. We had a variety of wine at the table but you know I stuck with my favorite kind, chardonnay 🙂
Post- dinner was time for drinks & dancing!! We hit up The Stars rooftop first, then headed to Prohibition for dancing. We danced for hours…we closed the place down! That Sole Serum really came in handy. I was able to dance in these wedges all night long. And I was tearing up the dance floor if I do say so myself, and wearing heels of any kind is not exactly a forte of mine. The sole serum is pretty cool; it sort of lubricates your feet and cools them, reducing swelling and puffiness. I applied it during a dancing bathroom break and it was magic.
Those are the highlights of the trip, I am so lucky to have such amazing girlfriends to have spent this weekend with, especially since some flew & drove from great distances! It really makes you feel loved 🙂 The only complaint I have is that the drive back to Charlotte on Sunday was brutal. Oh man was I tired. But I’d do it all again in a heartbeat. Love Charleston, love my friends, and I love my fiancé. Can’t wait to be his wife!

Bess
