Another week ahead is near! If you’re in search of some workout inspiration or food ideas, you can find them below!
Monday: Legs & Plyo Circuit
Tuesday: 3-4 mile run
Wednesday: Arms & Abs Circuit
Thursday: 3-4 mile run
Friday: Full Body Circuit
Saturday: 4-6 mile run
Sunday: Rest day, but will usually try to get “active rest” and take a walk or go on a hike
I’ve just created a new workout playlist on Spotify that you can follow and listen to during your own workouts! If you don’t have an account you will need to sign up (there’s a free membership option) but if you already have an account, simply click here and click the green “follow” button. Be sure to download the app on your phone so you can listen to your music on the go. This is what I always listen to on my runs and workouts!
Another tip, if you don’t already have a pair of wireless bluetooth headphones, get a pair! They’re life changing. No running and getting caught up in wires and it makes doing circuit workouts a lot easier, because doing those with wired headphones are basically impossible. I have this pair and they are the best. Then there’s this pair that is made by the same company but are a little cheaper. Trust me, they’re worth it! They also come with various earbud sizes so you’ll find something that fits your ear.
A typical day of eats for me is below:
- Breakfast: 1/2 cup oatmeal with honey, cinnamon, and 2 tbsp PB2 Powdered Peanut Butter
- Snack: Luna Bar OR apple
- Lunch: Salad with mixed greens and romaine lettuce, chicken, chickpeas, cucumbers, strawberries and balsamic vinegar (or whatever other salad fixins I have…avocado, blueberries, beets, carrots are also known to make an appearance)
- Snack: Mixed nuts & dried fruit trail mix OR rice chips & hummus
- Dinner: Grilled chicken, brown rice or quinoa, and a steamed vegetable (then pretty much always some dark chocolate as dessert)
- *Pre-workout: banana
*Depending on when I workout, I usually always eat a banana before a workout. Sometimes I have time to work out at lunch so I will eat a banana before working out then lunch afterwards. Other times I wait until after work to workout and I will have the banana then. If I ever work out in the morning I usually don’t eat anything, because it’s usually just a run and I am probably still half asleep until about halfway through the run anyways!
xo,
Bess
