I do these 6 things every day that help me feel healthier physically, mentally, and emotionally!
30 minutes of quiet time (at least!) with no electronics: read, meditate, listen to music, light a candle, paint my nails 🙂 Anything for some “me time” that is quiet and peaceful.
Sweat every day. I routinely workout 6 days a week. Sunday is generally my rest day, but I like to do “active rest” like taking a long, easy walk on those days to still get out and move my body and get fresh air.
Journal food & drink. This is not to say count calories, but I like to journal the food and drinks I consume because when I see them written out, I just feel more organized and on track.
Call a loved one. I talk to someone that I love on the phone just about every single day! Texting is an easy way to keep up quickly but talking on the phone is so much better for the connection! This is, of course, if you can’t see them in person, which is always the best.
Make up my bed. I make up my bed every morning. Granted, I don’t think I started doing this until after college, but a made up bed and a clean room makes me so happy. It’s now a non-negotiable for me! This BuzzFeed article has some great points about why you should make your bed everyday 🙂
Drink lots of water, preferably with lemon! I love drinking hot lemon water before bed and when I wake up, and then I like to have cold lemon water throughout the day! Lemons are an excellent source of vitamin C and antioxidants and help flush toxins out of your system. I don’t always have the lemon for my water throughout the day (that’s a lot of lemon!) but when I do, it feels like an extra treat.
