Guess what I did on Saturday?
Did the title give it away?
🙂
Craig and I went up to the mountains on Saturday and hiked Mt. Mitchell – the highest peak east of the Mississippi – all the way from the bottom to the top.
It’s 5.6 miles up and 5.6 miles down.
It was covered in snow and ice, and the top was at least 15 degrees colder than the rest of the mountain and very windy. It was hands down the hardest hike I’ve ever done, and I hope the hardest I’ll ever do! I’ll be quite honest that I was exhausted by the time we got to the top, so you can imagine that going back down was a challenge to say the least. I was hurtin’!!! This hike was no joke.
But the views at the top…breathtaking in more ways than one!
What did you do this weekend?
xo,
Bess
