I’m a pretty simple person when it comes to my cooking skills and my meal planning. A typical dinner will include a vegetable of some kind and lean protein, and usually a grain like quinoa or brown rice.
So I love when things help me learn how to be a better cook, expand my cooking horizons, and feed me delicious food all at the same time. And Blue Apron does that! (BTW I am not necessarily loyal to only Blue Apron, there are other meal delivery services out there that I plan on trying!)
We got the three meals for 2 people deal last week and delivered to my door were:
One Pot Shrimp Perloo (ingredients and recipe here):
Southern Style Burgers with Green Tomato Chow Chow and Old Bay Oven Fries (ingredients & recipe here):
Seared Chicken & Autumn Vegetables with Apple Cider Mustard Jus (ingredients and recipe here):
The prep time is generally about 15 minutes or so, depending on how good you are with knives. Lol. There’s usually a few things that need chopping, slicing, and dicing. But it isn’t too hard! I actually find it pretty therapeutic. Put on some music, pour a glass of wine, and cook (either by yourself or with your significant other or friend!) Craig and I would use the time to catch up on our day. It’s a nice reason to slow down.
And then of course, you get to eat your delicious creation. While I don’t get Blue Apron every week, I do think it’s worth trying at some point! It can be purchased in place of a pricey date night out…and with Blue Apron you’d get 3 meals instead of just one. That’s how I looked at it!
Have you ever tried Blue Apron? What do you think?
Have you ever tried any other cooking/meal delivery services?
xo,
Bess
