My weekend started out in probably the best way possible for what I had planned. My mom came to Charlotte for the night and we were going to go dress shopping Friday and Saturday!
Well, as it turns out, I found THE DRESS after only about an hour or so of searching. I think I only tried on about 8 dresses total! In my experience, its true what they say. You know “the one” when you see it. The dress I chose wasn’t even zipped up all the way and I started to get super giddy and happily announcing “I think I’m going to really like this one!” before it was even all the way on my body. I can’t wait to wear it!!
Here’s another dress just for fun…obviously not THE dress but it’s another one that I tried on. It was pretty but doesn’t hold a candle to the one I picked (clearly biased, but that’s the point I guess).
Friday night Mom & I celebrated by having sushi & wine and watching the new Cinderella movie that came out this year. It was really well done…I recommend watching it 🙂
Saturday I felt almost like I was in a little bit of a funk because we were scheduled to be trying on dresses all day! I think I just felt kinda sad that the dress shopping experience was over so quickly. Haha I know that might seem ridiculous but like I said I only tried on a handful of dresses before finding the one I wanted. But, I did find one I love and saved a lot of time in the meantime SO…all is well. I can’t wait to wear it again. Did I already say that?? Ha. The rest of the day Saturday I ran some other errands with Mom before she went back to Durham. Craig was in Utah on a fly fishing and camping trip for the weekend so I had plenty of time to myself to catch up on chores and errands. I didn’t really feel like working out on Saturday but it was such a perfect day and I wanted to be outside…so I made myself go out for a little jog. It ended up being a walk/jog combo and only for about 25 minutes or so…but that’s better than nothing. I got out and got some fresh air at least.
Sunday I made up for it by running 5 miles while listening to a random mix running playlist from Spotify. Did you know that they can now create a playlist based off of your running pace?? The beat of the music matches your tempo. It’s pretty cool. I didn’t even set out to run that far, but to be honest I got a little lost on a new route…so between that and the new music it was great!
I think my awesome breakfast also played a part. 2 cups of black coffee and banana oatmeal with honey, almond butter, and blueberries.
It was so good. I love lazy mornings when there’s plenty of time to slow cook a yummy breakfast.
Anyways…those are the highlights of the weekend! As usual it’s always a bummer when the weekend comes to a close but I am looking forward to three new Blue Apron meals to cook with Craig this week! Haha…excited about the food I get to eat this week. Typical.
What were the highlights of your weekend?
Did you get any good workouts in? Anyone run a race? I am finally getting the itch for a race again..that post is coming soon!
xo,
Bess

I will admit once wedding dress shopping was over I was sad too but looked forward to wearing it on the big day! I am sure the dress you chose is stunning because that one above certainly is!
