It is always hard when the weekend comes to a close and Monday draws nearer. It is even more hard when you’ve spent the weekend in the mountains. But, I must say, Sunday evenings are much less depressing when the Carolina Panthers defeat the Seahawks and go 5-0! Wooooo!! 🙂
Craig and I went up Friday afternoon to the cabin in Blowing Rock with my family. We were greeted with wine and a warm dinner, followed by s’mores by the campfire (and more wine.)
Saturday morning I went on a lovely mountain run through the crisp air and up the steep hills for a little exercise.
Craig went fly fishing early Saturday morning so he was pooped come lunch time. We hung out in the afternoon and lounged on the couch and front porch.
That evening Craig’s parents came over for the parents meet the parents situation! Lots of appetizers out before dinner–I tried my best not to crush all the cheese–and I think the night went pretty well!
That night was more couch time by the fire with cute puppies curled up at our feet.
Sunday morning we went for a hike down & around Trout Lake. Ben (my brother) and I were accidentally twinning a little bit in our Patagonia hats and down jackets! Lol.
All in all, a great weekend topped off by a Panthers victory. Maybe Monday won’t be so bad 🙂
Have a nice night and week ahead!!
xo,
Bess
