A little recap of my last couple of weekends via Instagram! Check out both of my accounts @bessh (personal insta) and @thefitfave (blog insta)…I will follow you back if you’re into that kind of thing 🙂
Last weekend the BF and I went up to Virginia to visit some fam. It was so gorgeous in the mountains! The sunset one night was stunning as you can see, and it was actually pretty chilly at night. Aka…wine by the fire! Getting me so pumped for fall, more trips to the mountains, bonfires, yay!
My Friday evening Mexican food date night!! We went to Maverick’s Rock Taco. I got the white sangria and we sat out on the patio with the sunset and those fun twinkling lights. I thought I snapped a pic of my food but then it was nowhere to be found on my camera roll. But, if you’re curious, I got the Acapulco Cobb salad from there. It’s so good. Giant salad of mixed greens topped with black beans, green peppers, SO MUCH GRILLED CHICKEN and some avocado and other stuff. (Plus some chipotle ranch that I could drink it’s so delicious.) Also, a post with this outfit is coming soon but get used to seeing these jeans and these shoes because I’m obsessed with them.
Saturday morning I got in my workout of a 4 mile run plus some extra abs & booty work and ended with some foam rolling and stretching. Then I basically dove head first into my protein pancake. I topped it with some dairy free strawberry almond milk yogurt, bananas, strawberries, and honey.
Saturday night/wine night! I had a relaxing evening in for the first time in a while. Candles & wine…they are good for your soul 🙂
Oh and speaking of pancakes…Sunday morning included a late breakfast/brunch at home. Chocolate chip protein pancakes!
These pancakes were amazing fuel for a 1 hour weights session including a low weight, high repetition barre-inspired type workout! Would anyone be interested in seeing this? I can share it if so…made some of it up on the fly and some from moves I’ve seen and done elsewhere!
Sunday night the BF and I went on a sunset walk and then he grilled us a healthy dinner of grilled chicken and squash.
And one last tip 🙂
THIS. No matter what it is…you won’t find success unless you put in the work on the daily!!
I’m currently editing a new follow-along style workout video so I plan for that to be ready this week! I hope you all had a great weekend. Let’s make it a great week 🙂
xo,
Bess

Looks like a great weekend Bess! Drinking wine by a fire sounds great, I’m so ready for fall as well. I’d be interested in the barre workouts. I’m always surprised at how intense they can be 🙂

Thanks Megan!! I will work on recreating that workout and I’ll even try to put it in a video! Sometimes those moves are hard to explain without a demonstration 🙂 xo!
