Holy cow this weekend flew by. I am prone to getting a case of the Sunday night blues every now and then and I might be experiencing it tonight! One thing I am looking forward to, however, is starting my workout program tomorrow! Zone One, Week One…let’s go!
To prep for starting the new program tomorrow, I took it easy today and just took a walk and did some foam rolling. Saturday I did go on a tough run…5 miles in the 95 degree heat. I should try not to wait until 12pm to start, ha 🙂 I also went grocery shopping and made my meals for tomorrow. Overnight oatmeal for breakfast, steak spinach salad for lunch, and an apple, hardboiled egg, and fruit & nut mix for snacks. I’m usually an after-work exerciser because a) I like sleeping in a bit more and b) I truly feel like I get more out of afternoon workouts when I’m awake and fueled. It’s just my preference.
I did try a new to me restaurant this weekend, Nan & Byron’s in South End of Charlotte. Friday kicked off Charlotte Restaurant Week so we got a drink, appetizer, entree, and dessert for $30 per person. Pretty awesome deal!
For our appetizers we got the tuna tartare and crispy oysters. Both were so good and the tuna was really fresh tasting. For the entrees, filet mignon and salmon. The desserts were strawberry cheesecake and hazelnut cake with vanilla ice cream. MMMM.
I liked the atmosphere a lot too, but I think because it’s restaurant week, it was super slammed and because of that, our service wasn’t great. We waited for our entree and dessert for a long time. And I don’t like waiting for food very long! Oh well. I hear they have a really yummy brunch too so maybe I’ll go back and try that sometime.
This was my Friday dinner outfit:
Shirt: Similar | Shorts {on sale!} | Sandals: Similar | Watch | Clutch {on sale!} | Earrings | Necklace: Teal House Collection
Another fun weekend activity was hitting up another new-to-me spot, Lenny Boy Brewing Co. Charlotte has a ton of great breweries and I was excited to find out they also had gluten-free beer and kombucha! I split a flight of 4 beers and 2 kombuchas to try.
I loveddddd the grape and ginger kombucha. So refreshing!
Brewery outfit:
Top {currently on sale for under $13!} | Booties: Similar | Cut off Shorts: Similar | Watch | Tank |
Now it’s time to relax a bit before bed and another week. For those of you starting the workout program tomorrow (you can still join us!!) take some before pictures if you’d like so you can see progress! Can’t wait to rock it 🙂 Goodnight!
xo,
Bess
Do you like to workout in the morning or evening?

During the week, I’m an after work exerciser – I like my sleep too! On the weekends, it’s morning/early afternoon workouts so it’s done!
